Spotlight on Russia: Metro - GETTING AROUND

Цель: создать условия для совершенствования языковых и речевых навыков в ситуации речевого общения по теме “Метро”.

Оборудование: иллюстрации по теме урока.

Ход урока

I. Организационный момент

— Good afternoon, boys and girls! (Good afternoon, teacher!)

— How are you?

— Let’s see if everyone is here.

(Учитель собирает письменные работы учащихся на проверку.)

II. Работа по теме урока

1. Вводная беседа

— What public transport do people use in Russian cities? (Buses, trolleybuses, taxi, trams, metro.)

The subject of today’s discussion is the metro.

(Учитель записывает слово metro на доске и задает вопросы классу.)

— Have you ever travelled by metro? Where was it?

— Is the metro comfortable (safe, cheap, fast)?

— Where’s the best metro system in our country?

2. Работа с текстом в журнале Spotlight on Russia

— Open the magazine Spotlight on Russia at the end of your books, page 5. Now we’re going to read the article about the Moscow metro. What can you see in the photo? (It’s a metro station.)

Mayakovskaya is a metro station on the Zamoskvoretskaya Line in the Tverskoy District of central Moscow. It is one of the most beautiful and famous metro stations in the world. The station was opened in 1938. It is decorated with white and pink marble and mosaic ceilings. You can also see the bust of the poet Vladimir Mayakovsky.

— How many lines does the metro have? (It has 12 lines.)

— Let’s learn the words you will see in the article.

(Учитель объясняет значение слов с помощью средств зрительной и звуковой наглядности. Учащиеся повторяют слова за учителем. Затем ученики самостоятельно читают статью и отвечают на вопросы.)

3. Выполнение задания в рубрике Activities

(Учитель читает первое задание и предлагает ученикам заполнить таблицу, а затем сравнить метро в Москве и в своем/другом городе.)

Дополнительная информация о метро в Лондоне:

The London Underground or Tube is the oldest metro system in the world. It was opened in 1863.

If you want to travel fast around London, taking the Tube will get to your destination quicker than bus or taxi. The metro system has got 12 lines. Each line has a traditional name and a standard colour on the Tube Map. There are currently 275 stations and about 253 miles of route. To travel between the surface and the underground stations there are escalators and lifts.

You must have a ticket for every journey you take the underground. You can buy them from ticket machines or from ticket sales offices.

— Write the letter about your favourite station at home. You can draw a picture of the station or stick a photo.
